20 years in the making, SOPRO will be launching our youth TravelBall Program in Baseball AND Softball. The 2026 program will consist of teams in 7u - 12u age groups.

Baseball Team Age Requirements
At SOPRO, we desire to keep kids on teams with kids in their SCHOOL CLASSMATES.
7u - 1st Grade 10u - 4th Grade
8u - 2nd Grade 11u - 5th Grade
9u - 3rd Grade 12u - 6th Grade
This generally requires many players to play in age groups above what they are technically eligible for.
Based on birthdates however, many players qualify to play for a team in an age group younger than that listed for their grade. A player's age on April 30th, 2026 determines the youngest group he is eligible for. for the 2025/2026 Fall & Spring seasons. Decisions can be made on an individual basis.
Example:
A player in the 5th grade would still qualify for 10u provided he does NOT turn 11 prior to May 1st of that school year.
SOFTBALL team age requirements
At SOPRO, we desire to keep kids on teams with kids in their SCHOOL CLASSMATES.
8u Rookie - 2nd Grade 10u Second Year - 5th Grade
8u 2nd year- 3rd Grade 12u Rookie - 6th Grade
10u Rookie - 4th Grade 12u Second Year - 7th Grade
*MOST girls will fall into teams based on grades. However, a players age on August 31st of each season is the official determining factor. So, a players age ON SEPT 1 determines her youngest age group she is eligible for.
Example:
A player in the 5th grade that turns 12 prior to August 31st will need to move up to 12u Rookie.
